1.How do I pay?

We accept cash or EFTPOS (credit cards attract a 2% levy; American Express not accepted). Account must be settled at the end of the job.

2. How is travel time calculated?

We are based in Collingwood so if your move starts and ends in the vicinity then no travel time is charged. Otherwise a fixed travel time is suggested by our manager using GPS technology.

3. Do you have insurance?

We have public liability insurance and carriers goodwill cover. This covers damage to customers goods caused by fire, flood, collision or overturning of the conveying vehicle and whilst loading and unloading. Apart from this policy all care is taken but no responsibility is accpetd.

Beware of removalists who offer “we break it, we fix it” policies. It sounds attractive but you should read the small print of these policies to avoid disappointment.

4. What if parking is difficult?

You can pay council to secure a park for us or we can park illegally on the proviso that you pay for any parking fine incurred at the end of the job (which works out cheaper than getting council approval anyway).

5. Can I ride with you?

Sure, as long as you haven’t booked three removalists.

6. What about boxes?

Smart Move sell cheap boxes and packaging supplies.

7. How long does a move take?

It really varies. On average a 1-bedroom move takes roughly two hours, or a 2 to 3-bedroom move takes three to four hours. While a 3 to 4-bedroom move usually takes four to six hours. Your move could be shorter or longer depending on access at both ends ie. how far we need to walk the furniture.

8. How do I become a Removal movie star?
